Respawn Point

Burned out on big name games? Check out some awesome mostly indie titles scheduled to launch between November 3 and 9. I haven’t personally played these, but they look intriguing!

Steam Games Releasing Nov 3:

• Vyun, Kosmeya, And The Witch’s Curse by DillyFram: A beautifully illustrated linear visual novel about never giving up on your dreams.
• Realms of Madness by Robin van der Horst: Fast-paced, side-scrolling RTS with plenty of micro-management and customization.
• Mall Simulator by F13 Games: Exactly what it says on the tin. If you like managing stores, this one has more than 15 to maintain… at the same time!
• Tavern Keeper by Greenheart Games: A fantasy tavern manager from the makers of Game Dev Tycoon.
• Dream Garden by Campfire Studio: Beautiful, relaxing garden-building experience.

Steam Games Releasing Nov 4:

• Laundering Simulator – Clean Cash and Laundry by Ritual Interactive: Clean laundry and launder cash while you run a laundry business, maintain a shady counterfitting operation, and avoid cop attention.
• Wordcaster by Hamdan Hamid: Use your voice (literally!) to cast spells with speech recognition software. Such a cool concept!
• Maya : Ek Pishachini by Akshat Softwares: Horror game with Indian themes, fully voiced in English and Hindi. Sign me up!

Steam Games Releasing Nov 5:

• Q-UP by Everybody House Games: I’ll let the Steam description do the talking: “Sick of long queues, unfair matchups, and arbitrary reflex tests? Try Q-UP, the coin flipping eSport. “It’s one part clicker, one part multiplayer strategy game, one part demented capitalism simulator, and 100% completely random.”
• Biped 2 by META Publishing: Co-op robot puzzler. I played the first with both my husband and daughter and we had a great time, so this is one I’m personally looking forward to!

Steam Games Releasing Nov 6:

• Syberia – Remastered by Virtuallyz Gaming, Microids Studio Paris: Okay, this one isn’t indie. But Syberia was one of my favorite adventure games, and I’m looking forward to revisiting the world of stampunk and automatons.
• MAELSTROM LEGACY: The Tesla Mystery by Wistfulware: Nikola Tesla is missing, and it’s up to you to solve puzzles and adventure through a steampunk and Art Nouveau Paris to find him! This is very Layton-esque and I’m here for it.

Steam Games Releasing Nov 7:

• Astro Flame: Starfighter by Satur Entertainment: Incredible-looking starfighter. Upgrade your ship and take on space enemies in this classic-inspired shoot-’em-up title.
• Rewoven Self by Tang Yuanyuan: A sweet story about healing in a world of emails and deadlines.

Steam Games Releasing Nov 8:

• Open Your Eyes by Aarthi and Friends: A beautiful take on the classic color-connecting, grid-based puzzlers.

Steam Games Releasing Nov 9:

• Hypogea by Charlie Wagner: Help an automaton escape from an underground megastructure. This uses an interesting staff-based movement mechanic, and makes me think of the classic BABBDI.
